Mailerlite is an email marketing tool used to engage your website or blog’s visitors and users, keeping them up-to-date with what’s happening in your sphere or business.
Mailerlite accomplishes this by allowing you to send emails and newsletters to your website’s subscribers, keeping them up-to-date with your blog or website’s latest news and information that they may find valuable.
The key to any successful email marketing tool or campaign is deliverability. Are the newsletters and emails that you have spent so much time crafting and creating actually being delivered to your recipients?
The good news is Mailerlite has one of the top deliverability rates in email marketing.
Although as with all email marketing tools, there may be some deliverability issues from time to time.
However, these issues, or at least most of these issues, can easily be solved and depend more on your end and your actions rather than Mailerlite’s email marketing tool.

There are several ways that you can fix Mailerlite email deliverability issues.
In fact, if you are implementing all these measures beforehand, you can practically ensure that you won’t have any Mailerlite deliverability issues to begin with.
Here’s a quick run down on the ways in which you can prevent any Mailerlite deliverability issues:
- Send emails from your own domain.
Mailerlite works closely with major email services in order to whitelist your domain.
Therefore, it is very important that you send your bulk emails from the domain you have listed with Mailerlite in order to avoid spam filters.
It is also important that not only your bulk emails be sent from your domain name, but that your name listed in the prefix is legitimate and not spammy.
For example it could be John@yourdomain.com, not xxyz123@yourdomain.com. It could also be newsletter@domain name.com, etc. Keep it short and understandable.
- Authenticate your domain name.
In order for Mailerlite to whitelist your domain with major email services so you can avoid spam filters and the like, you would need to authenticate your domain name.
This is a very easy process and only has to be done once. It’s similar to setting up your Google Analytics account authentication.
You can do this via a .txt file, uploaded to your domain servers.
By doing so this will tell not only Mailerlite, but the email boxes of your recipients that you are indeed a legitimate email.
- Always check your email content.
Spam filters, although they don’t have the ability to actually read the content of an email in order to correctly determine if it’s spam or not, have keywords and phrases as well as colors and fonts cooked into their algorithms to determine whether or not an email is spam.
You need to avoid using words for example like “click here”, “buy now”, etc. You should also avoid using colors like bright red, especially in bold.
I would also avoid using language that is typically found in spam emails.
By doing this you can lower your chances that your emails will be put into a spam filter as well.
- Test your emails before sending them.
Test a small batch, even just one sample email, that you are about to send in bulk to your own email address.
However, you should try to send it to an email address that is not listed with Mailerlite, especially not to the same domain that you are sending them from.
This should help test how well your emails will be received to your email subscribers.
- Never use purchased lists.
We all have to have email lists. But those email lists should be earned through your own efforts.
In addition, the recipients on your email list should be ones that have subscribed to your email list themselves.
Of course, an easy way to get an email list would simply be to buy an email list of potential customers etc.
However, if you’re buying a list you should know that more than likely others are buying that very same list as well. And those other buyers of the same email list might not be as scrupulous as you.
Many spammers buy lists in order to spam offers to unsuspecting recipients. If you’re sending your legitimate emails to the same lists, your domain could be flagged as a spammer. That’s the last thing you want.
So don’t buy lists.
- Allow recipients to unsubscribe.

The more personalized the subject line to your recipient you can make it, the better. Try to avoid using generic titles like “Hello” etc.
But you will definitely want to avoid using spammy language in the subject line as well.
- Maintain a good sender reputation profile.
There are various ways you can help maintain a good sender reputation profile.
However, the best way to do this would be to only send emails to email recipients who are actively engaged reading your newsletters and emails.
You should regularly go through your email lists and clean out any recipients who either have high bounce rates, don’t open your emails or especially have unsubscribed.
By culling your email lists and only keeping those that are the most active, will you help ensure that you have a good sender reputation profile.
In addition, when you first get a subscriber and send them that “Welcome” email, ask that they put you in their contact list.
By having your recipients add you to their contact list you will totally skip spam filters all together. This is also a great way to improve your email sender profile.
- Make sure you comply with all anti-spam laws.
Don’t forget to comply with all laws of the Can-Spam Act. Any violations of these can not only put you in deep trouble and vulnerable to lawsuits.
But at the very least get you banned from most, if not all email marketing tools including Mailerlite.

The easiest way to check Mailerlite’s email deliverability is to simply send yourself an email.
By sending yourself an email, on another email domain from the one you are sending, you can see just how your emails and newsletters look to your recipients, while at the same time verifying that your email is being sent and received.
Can you use MailerLite with Gmail?
You could use Mailerlite with Gmail, but, why would you want to?
As you can see from above, you should stay clearly away from sending bulk emails from any popular email services like Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, Yahoo etc.
Using Mailerlite with Gmail, in other words, would be counterproductive.

As you can see, Mailerlite deliverability depends a lot more on you, than it does on Mailerlite.
