Should I Use Blogger or WordPress for SEO and making money?
Blogger and WordPress are both popular content management systems (CMS), but which one should you use for SEO? What about making money?
Well, both have their pros and cons. Which one you choose is going to depend on your answers to a few key questions:
Are you trying to make money?
If you’re trying to make money, then WordPress is the better choice. It has a wider range of plugins and themes that you can use to create a professional-looking website, which will help you attract more visitors.
You have more choices when it comes to 3rd party advertisers as well, and you can also use WordPress to create a membership site or ecommerce store.
Are you looking for better SEO?
If you’re looking for better SEO, then WordPress, again, is the better choice. It has more features and plugins that you can use to optimize your website for the search engines, and it’s also easier to grow and expand than Blogger.
WordPress is also more flexible in terms of SEO, which means you can make changes to your site on a whim when Google makes a change or announces a new algorithm update.
If you’re more interested in blogging for fun and a little profit, then Blogger is the simpler option. It’s easier to use and most people have worked with it before.
You can monetize it with Google Adsense as well as affiliate products. You can even sell your own product and services as well.
However, you will still be much more limited than if you were to go with a self-hosted WordPress website. But if you’re just blogging for fun, then Google’s free Blogger platform is a great option.
Are you looking for free hosting for a custom domain?
Then Blogger is one of the best choices you can make. Not only is it free to use, but you can also use a custom domain name (e.g. yourname.com) for no extra charge. Although you do have to buy the custom domain name.
But you can usually pick one up for $10-$15 per year. This can give your blog an air of professionalism that you might not get with a free WordPress site.
However, Blogger does have some limitations. First, you’re limited to using Google’s Adsense program for display advertising.
Second, your blog is hosted on Google’s servers, which means you don’t have as much control over it as you would with a self-hosted WordPress blog.
SEO with Blogger.
Blogger is good for SEO because you can include keywords in your blog’s title and in the tags for each post.
You can also create backlinks to your blog posts from other websites.
However, Blogger is not as customizable as WordPress, so you may have to make some sacrifices when it comes to SEO.
Is Blogger easier to use than WordPress?
The short answer is that Blogger should be easier to use than WordPress, but it will also depend on the person using them.
If you are new, then Blogger should definitely be simpler for you to get started right away.
However, if this is your second blogging experience, then you should know that there are a ton of extra options and features with WordPress that you may not find in Blogger.
For SEO, there really is no difference between Blogger and WordPress.
Both are good for on page optimization, and you should use the same techniques for both platforms.
The one exception to this rule is if you are using a self-hosted WordPress site. In this case, you will have more control over the SEO settings, and you may be able to do more to improve your rankings.
Can I transfer Blogger to WordPress?
Yes, you can absolutely transfer your Blogger blog to WordPress, but the process isn’t quite as simple as just uploading a ZIP file.
You will need to export your content from Blogger and then import it into WordPress, allowing for some downtime during the transition.
However, since they are built using different coding languages, you will not be able to transfer your theme or any customizations you’ve made to it to WordPress.
Thankfully though, WordPress has thousands of themes to choose from as well as over 55,000 plugins to add any functionality you want.
Should I start with Blogger or WordPress?
You could, for simplicity sake, start out with Blogger, but I wouldn’t stay on it too long. Especially if you’re looking towards taking your blog to the next level and beyond.
In fact, you are probably much better off starting with WordPress from the beginning.
Should I Use Blogger or WordPress for SEO and Making Money? Summary.
Blogger is good for people who are already using other Google products like Analytics or Adsense, or who want a blog integrated with their domain name. Blogger’s ease of use is another advantage.
It has a very easy-to-use interface, and you can get a blog started in minutes.
