WordPress plugin and non-plugin options for selling books.

There are a few ways that you can use your WordPress website for selling books with or without a plugin.

In this post, I’m going to go over how you can use a WordPress plugin for selling books from your website. I will also go over one or two ways you can use WordPress for selling books without a plugin.

Links for plugins are embedded into their images.

WordPress plugin options for selling books.

Here are two great plugins that you can use for selling books on WordPress.

WordPress non-plugin options for selling books.

If you would like to use your WordPress website for selling books without a plugin, the best way you can do this is to simply become an affiliate for some popular eBook sellers, most notably Amazon. But there are quite a few others including Streetlib, Barnes & Noble, Apple, Smashwords, Kobo etc.

Whether you are an Author or a Book Reviewer you can make money selling books on your WordPress website without a plugin as well. If you are a Book Reviewer, you can simply review books and provide an affiliate link to the book from your favorite bookseller.

However, before you do this you have to of course sign up to the affiliate programs from your favorite online ebook retailers and distributors.

They will then provide you with links that you can include in your WordPress website so that your website readers can click on whichever book they’re interested in or that you’re promoting and buy it from the retailer.

Once they do, you receive a commission.

If you’re an Author, even better. All the ebook retailers and distributors I have mentioned in this post actually have self-publishing platforms.

You can simply upload your book in the correct format to the online book retailer through their self-publishing platform.

You could not only promote your own ebooks on your WordPress website, but the online retailer or distributor will also make your book available in their online marketplace as well.

You can receive anywhere from 50% to 70% of the book’s retail sales price. You may even get a slight commission if you use your affiliate link while promoting your own ebooks from your WordPress website.

However, always check the terms and conditions of your self-publishing agreement with the online retailer or distributor to make sure you’re not breaking their terms and you have permission to do so.

Most will allow you to use your affiliate link to promote your own books, though some may not.

Can I simply publish a book on WordPress for my readers?

WordPress does have plugin options for you to publish your book right on your WordPress website for your readers.

These plugins not only allow you to make your book available for immediate download, but also provide you with a variety of formats that your readers can choose from. For example: PDF, ePub, Mobi for Kindle etc.

How do I sell a PDF on WordPress?

Actually the two plugins above can also help you sell a PDF from your WordPress website to your readers.

In fact, some of the WordPress plugins that are listed throughout this post will allow you to sell your ebooks in a PDF for your readers.

In addition, the plugin below will allow you to turn your WordPress posts into PDFs and even into ebooks for you to make available to your readers.

You may actually be able to make money from aggregating your WordPress posts into an ebook or PDF format and begin selling these PDF books to your WordPress website readers.

However, you may need to integrate WooCommerce into your WordPress website to make the downloading and sales process much smoother.

How do I sell my eBook on Woocommerce?

You could sell basically anything from your WordPress website through commerce. WooCommerce was made specifically for WordPress websites.

As the name suggests WooCommerce will turn your WordPress website into an online retailer itself.

Through WooCommerce you can not only sell physical products if you choose to drop ship for example, but you can sell digital products as well like ebooks.

Here are a couple of great WooCommerce plugins for selling ebooks from your WordPress website.

Is Print-On-Demand Book integration possible with WooCommerce?

Although you can integrate Print-On-Demand with WooCommerce, this is only available for typical Print-On-Demand products like T-shirts, mugs, hoodies, sweatshirts and any other items that popular Print-On-Demand companies offer.

If you would like to add a Print-On-Demand addition to your WordPress website from companies like Printful, Printify or even Amazon’s own Print-On-Demand service, you can.

However, the only way you can get Print-On-Demand physical books and sell them from your WordPress website would be to join Amazon’s ebook version of Print-On-Demand through Amazon Self-Publishing platform as well as a few other ebook retailers that offer their own versions.

You can then integrate them with your WordPress website in a similar fashion as you would as an affiliate.

WordPress plugin and non-plugin options for selling books, conclusion.

So there you have it. If you want to monetize and turn your WordPress website into a book selling machine there are certainly plugin and non-plugin options for selling books.

Whether you are an Author, a Book Reviewer or just a Bookworm in general, who likes to discuss books and engage your WordPress website readers, you too can monetize your WordPress website with a plugin for selling books, or without. It’s totally up to you and how you wish to monetize your WordPress website.
