Jetpack vs Google Analytics.

If you’re comparing Jetpack vs Google Analytics from a strictly “analytics” point of view, then Google Analytics wins hands down. But wait! Not so fast.

Is comparing the two from a strictly Analytics point of view really fair, when Jetpack has so much more? In fact, wouldn’t be great if you could combine the two?

If all you are looking for is a way to track your analytics on your WordPress website, then simply get Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is the industry standard and basically it’s the only analytics that anyone looking at the traffic or evaluating a website will take seriously.

Best of all, Google Analytics is free. You can either install it through embedding a piece of code into your WordPress website’s header, adding a .txt file into your WordPress websites files or you can use a plugin.

In fact, several plugins include Google Analytics.

However, that’s not to say that Jetpack does not have its uses. It has many uses. In fact, Jetpack is arguably WordPress’s most powerful plugin and has so many features that many website owners can’t handle its power and often misuse it.

Although if you can harness the power of Jetpack, not only can you enjoy superior performance for your WordPress website, but you can also take advantage of Jetpack’s own analytics data.

You see, as great and as recognized as Google Analytics is, sometimes it’s best to have two different sets of analytics.

But needless to say, having an extra set of analytics on your website can give you insights into specific keywords and phrases etc. that you can use to improve your SEO.

Moreover, you can actually use both Google Analytics as well as Jetpack’s own analytics together right in your WordPress dashboard.

No need to leave your WordPress website to go to your Google Analytics account. You can now view all the data from both pairs of analytics software through the same interface, right in your WordPress dashboard.

In this post, I’m going to go over some frequently asked questions that people ask when trying to decide which analytics software they should go with. My argument is why not use both?

This post will go into some of those questions and in the end I hope that you will come to the same conclusions I had and decide to go with both Jetpack and Google Analytics.

Does Jetpack provide any data that Google Analytics doesn’t?

You know, I looked hard at both Jetpack and Google Analytics to see if there was anything that Jetpack had that Google Analytics didn’t.

To be quite honest with you, I couldn’t find anything. The only thing that Jetpack can do is allow you to have both Jetpack and Google Analytics viewable on the same interface within your WordPress dashboard.

However, from a purely analytical perspective you can even view Google Analytics as well as Google Search Console within your WordPress dashboard by simply downloading the Google Site Kit plugin. These two in my opinion are the most powerful analytical tools out there for websites.

Is Jetpack better than Google Analytics?

For simply analytics data, then no Jetpack, is not better than Google Analytics. In fact, it’s quite the contrary, especially when Google Analytics is combined with Google Search Console.

Does Jetpack have Google Analytics?

Jetpack does include Google Analytics with its initial set up and installation.

However, if you have Google Analytics already installed on your website, you can include it with Jetpack Stats within the same interface.

This way you don’t have to go back and forth from your Google Analytics account back to your WordPress website.

You can view both Jetpack’s Stats and Google Analytics data in one interface from within your WordPress dashboard.

What are the benefits of Jetpack besides Analytics?

Jetpack is a bundle of plugins that are designed to not only improve SEO performance, speed as well as security, but it also contains plugins that can improve the look of your content as well.

There are so many benefits to Jetpack that you really should click this link and see for yourself.

You may not be able to use all of the benefits that Jetpack has at the moment, but I’m sure once you get to know the true power of Jetpack you’ll be taking full advantage of this awesome tool.

Analytics and tracking the visitors of your website is just a small fraction of what Jetpack can do.

However, by having two sets of analytical data you may be able to get an edge over the competition that simply relies on Google Analytics for their traffic data and information.

As they say, “the most powerful commodity in the world is information”. By having two sets of analytics conveniently located in one interface within your WordPress dashboard you too can take advantage of the power of information, which may give you that slight edge over your competition.

Do I need Google Analytics if I have Jetpack?

Yes, you do need Google Analytics even if you do have Jetpack. Why?

Whether you are applying for an affiliate program, a third party premium Ad Display Network or looking to eventually sell your WordPress website down the road, most, if not all, will require you to provide them with data about your website from Google Analytics.

So the sooner, no, as soon as you set up your WordPress website, install Google Analytics into it. Whether that’s through some code in your website’s header, through a plugin or a.txt file in your WordPress files.

Installing Google Analytics is one of the first things you should do before you even write a single word of content.

That’s how important you will find the data Google Analytics supplies down the road. It’s actually indispensable to the health and growth of your WordPress website.

What is included in Jetpack?

Do I need a Google Analytics Plugin?

You do not need a Google Analytics plugin. In fact, there is no such plugin.

However, there is Google Site Kit which is a plugin made by Google for WordPress websites.

With this Google Site Kit plugin it not only helps you install Google Analytics code in your WordPress website but it can also connect your Google search console code as well.

Actually, right after you set up your Google Analytics account, the very next thing you should do is set up Google Search Console.

These two tools alone will give you all the data you will need. And by setting up Google Site Kit on your WordPress website you will also have access to both those interfaces within your dashboard. In fact Google Site Kit also combines Google Analytics and Google search console in one interface.

In fact, you may be able to include not only Google Analytics but Google Search Console within your Jetpack data and interface as well. Contact Jetpack’s support to confirm. Talk about powerful data and analytics!

Jetpack vs Google Analytics, conclusions.

In the Jetpack vs Google Analytics comparison in regards to data and overall analytical information for your WordPress website, Google Analytics wins hands down without a doubt.

However, from a strictly analytical point of view, it’s really not a fair comparison. Jetpack is so much more than just analytics and stats.

In fact, Jetpack doesn’t even pretend to be better or even compete with Google Analytics as far as the gathering of data for your WordPress website.

But, Jetpack is a very powerful tool that can improve the performance of your WordPress website immensely if you use it correctly.

As far as analytical information is concerned, although comparing Jetpack vs Google Analytics is like comparing apples and oranges, you can still benefit from Jetpack stats and have an additional angle when you’re analyzing your WordPress website’s data.

So instead of simply relying on Google Analytics data, you can have basically another pair of eyes and their data as well to cross reference. This can give you an edge over your competition.

The stats in Jetpack may actually give you ideas for additional keywords and topics that you can create great content about.

When combined with Google Analytics as well as Google Search Console, Jetpack will make your WordPress website almost unstoppable in performance as well as the gathering of analytics and important data that you can use to beat out your competition.
